| General - General |
The Casino Neighbourhood Centre (CNCI) has been established since 1983 and became an Incorporated Body on the 10 March 1988 under the Association Incorporation Act 1984.
CNCI is a community based not-profit organisation that provides a range of direct services and information to disadvantaged members of the Casino community and small towns and villages surrounding Casino.
CNCI operates within a community-based management model which is made up of a voluntary Management Committee that is responsible for setting strategic directions, policy, planning, evaluation and financial management.
CNCI commenced as a volunteer service in 1983 providing information on services available to the community, and has since grown and developed into a large funded multi purpose “One Stop Community Centre” providing a large range of services and support to disadvantaged members and wider members of the community.
This growth and development has been achieved in the following processes:-
- Completing research and identifying the needs of the community
- Successfully applying for funding from different departments to address these identified needs
- Working collaboratively with other service providers, community partners, and departments to provide co-ordinated approach in provision of services
- Forming consortiums and partnerships (both formal and informal) with other community based services and departments.
